Why Speech and Drama Classes are so important for young people

Our Speech, Drama and communication classes offer a comprehensive programme which covers all areas of communication. Our Mission at Ellendel is to focus on building self-confidence and student well-being by developing creativity, imagination, social and communication skills. Students learn these skills in a fun safe environment. 

Our classes cover creative drama, improvisation, poetry, movement, mime, voice-work and public speaking. We recommend that students participate in Speech and Drama Exams & Public Speaking Exams with LAMDA or Trinity London. We also encourage students to enter Speech and Drama Festivals which are part of The British Federation of Festivals. 

 With small class sizes for individual attention, students benefit from a supportive and focused learning environment. Speech and Drama classes are incredibly valuable for young people in developing creativity, building confidence and essential life skills in a fun and creative way. We believe that students can reach their full potential when they overcome the fear of public speaking and have strong communication skills. 

Through performance, students develop confidence, clear communication, and strong presentational skills – all important skills for school, future careers, and everyday interactions.

Drama also nurtures empathy and develops students’ emotional intelligence. Students study a range of literature which allows them see things from different perspectives.
