We prepare students as young as 4 years old for LAMDA exams depending on their readiness
Ellendel prepares students for LAMDA exams in Verse and Prose, Public Speaking, Reading for Performance and Solo Acting. Students can take up to two different exams per year.
Each year, Ellendel run a private centre for students to take exams in person or online. Students can also choose to take an exam at another time in the year at LAMDA's public centre either in person (London) or Online.
This can depend on many things: the type of exam, the grade, if the student is in a group class or 1:1 private class and how much work the student does between the classes, as that is what will really get them ready for the exam. In group classes, all students work towards the same exam date. It is usually 12 weeks of preparation as a minimum for Introductory or Entry Level Exam. For Grade 1 and above exams, students choose their pieces before the holidays and we ask them to familiarise themselves over the summer, so they have about 14 weeks to prepare. For Grade 5 and above exam, these are taught in smaller group classes (usually 4) and it is more like 18-20 weeks to prepare for the exam. Private class students can enter at any point in the year at a LAMDA public centre when they are ready for the exam. All of our teaching hours are in line with LAMDA's guided learning hours in the syllabus.
